- 1 cup Unsalted butter softened at room temperature
- 1 cup Granulated sugar
- 1 large Egg
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- 3 cups All-purpose flour measured correctly
- 1 Tbsp Aluminum-free baking powder
- 1/4 tsp Salt
Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C) with a rack in the center.
Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in a small bowl and set aside.
Beat the butter and sugar together using a stand-up or handheld mixer.
Add vanilla extract and egg to the mixture and beat to combine.
Add flour to the butter mixture in three parts until fully incorporated.
Divide the dough into two equal parts and roll out each piece to a ¼-inch thickness.
Cut out favorite shapes using a cookie cutter.
Bake cookies on a parchment or silicone-lined baking sheet at 350°F (180°C) for 10 minutes, or until the edges are just beginning to turn golden.
