Ingredients
1French baguettesliced into 1/2 inch rounds
1/4cupextra virgin olive oil
8ozBrie cheesesliced into small wedges or strips
2firm Anjou pearscored and thinly sliced
1cupwhole berry cranberry saucehomemade or store-bought
1/2cupwalnuts or hazelnutstoasted and roughly chopped
Fresh thyme leaves or rosemary sprigs for garnish
Orange zestoptional
Balsamic glaze or honey for drizzlingoptional
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange the baguette slices in a single layer on a large baking sheet.
Brush the top of each bread slice lightly with olive oil. Bake for 5-7 minutes, or until the edges are golden and crisp.
Remove the baking sheet from the oven. Place a slice of Brie cheese onto each toasted baguette round.
Return the pan to the oven and bake for another 3-5 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly. (Watch closely to ensure the bread does not burn).
Remove from the oven. Top the melted Brie with a spoonful of cranberry sauce and a slice of fresh pear.
Sprinkle with chopped toasted nuts, fresh herbs, and a pinch of orange zest.
Finish with a drizzle of balsamic glaze or honey if desired, and serve warm.
