Equipment

  • Small saucepan
  • Blender
  • Large pitcher

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup Red-fleshed dragon fruit fresh or frozen chunks
  • 1 cup Freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 0.75 cup Granulated sugar or organic coconut sugar, honey, agave, or monk fruit
  • 4 cups Water for simple syrup and dilution
  • 2 cups Ice cubes

Optional Add-ins

  • 1 tablespoon Lime juice Optional
  • 1 teaspoon Green coffee extract or green tea Optional, for caffeine
  • 1 teaspoon Hibiscus tea or beet juice Optional, for natural color boosting

Instructions

  • Prepare the simple syrup by combining water and sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved, then remove from heat and let it cool.
  • Prep the dragon fruit by peeling and dicing the fruit. For a smoother texture and more intense color, blend the dragon fruit into a puree.
  • In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice and the dragon fruit puree or pieces.
  • Add the cooled simple syrup to the pitcher and stir well.
  • Pour in the remaining cold water and stir until the mixture reaches a vibrant, uniform magenta hue.
  • Taste and adjust the sweetness or acidity by adding more sweetener or lemon juice if desired.
  • Serve the lemonade in glasses filled with ice, garnished with extra dragon fruit chunks or lemon slices.
