Instructions
Prepare the Ingredients:
Wash and peel the ginger and turmeric roots if using fresh. (Pro Tip: Use a spoon to gently scrape the skin off for minimal waste.)
Juice the lemons and set aside. If you’re using orange juice, measure it out now.
Blend Everything Together:
Add the ginger, turmeric, lemon juice, honey, cayenne pepper, orange juice (if using), and water to a high-speed blender.
Blend on high until the mixture is smooth and the ginger and turmeric are fully broken down.
Strain the Mixture:
For a smooth texture, pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a bowl or large measuring cup.
Use a spoon to press the pulp and extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the remaining pulp or save it for another use, like adding to smoothies.
Pour and Store:
Transfer the strained liquid into small shot glasses or airtight containers for storage.
Store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Shake well before serving, as natural settling may occur.
