Ingredients

  • 1 chilled tall glass
  • 2 Tbsp flavored syrup e.g. vanilla syrup, raspberry syrup, strawberry syrup, or your favorite Torani brand
  • 8 oz club soda or sparkling water
  • 2 Tbsp heavy cream or half and half optional, for extra creaminess
  • A dollop of whipped cream for topping
  • 1 maraschino cherry for garnish
  • Clear ice cubes optional, for presentation

Instructions

Chill everything

  • Place your tall glass and bottle of club soda in the fridge (or freezer for 10 minutes) so they’re ice-cold.

Add the syrup

  • Pour 2 Tbsp of your chosen flavored syrup into the bottom of the chilled glass.

Build the soda

  • Slowly pour in 8 oz of club soda (or sparkling water) down the side of the glass to preserve fizz.

Mix gently

  • Use a long spoon or straw to stir just enough to combine syrup and club soda, keeping plenty of bubbles.

Swirl in the cream (optional)

  • Pour 2 Tbsp heavy cream or half and half over the back of a spoon so it floats on top, creating a creamy layer.

Top with whipped cream

  • Add a dollop of whipped cream for that classic italian cream soda finish.

Garnish and serve

  • Drop in a maraschino cherry, add clear ice if desired, and enjoy your homemade italian cream sodas!

Tip

  • For endless possibilities, swap in different flavored syrup or try sugar-free options from your favorite syrup company.
