Patriotic Caprese Skewers

Ingredients

Skewers

  • 2 pints cherry tomatoes washed and dried
  • 24 mini fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini)
  • 1 pint fresh blueberries washed and dried
  • 1 bunch fresh basil leaves washed and dried

Garnish

  • 2 cuillères à soupe balsamic glaze
  • 1 cuillère à soupe extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 pincée flaky sea salt
  • 1 pincée freshly cracked black pepper

Instructions

  • Wash and dry the cherry tomatoes, fresh blueberries, and fresh basil leaves thoroughly, patting them completely dry with a paper towel.
  • Take a 4-inch to 6-inch wooden skewer and thread on one cherry tomato, one folded basil leaf, one mini mozzarella ball, another small basil leaf, and finish with two blueberries at the top.
  • Arrange the assembled skewers neatly in a single layer on a large serving platter.
  • Right before serving, lightly drizzle the skewers with extra virgin olive oil and balsamic glaze, then sprinkle evenly with flaky sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper.

To prep these a day in advance, assemble the skewers completely (minus the oil, glaze, salt, and pepper). Place them in an airtight container lined with a dry paper towel to absorb any excess moisture. Store in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
