Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Mix peaches with 1/4 cup of sugar. Let it sit for about 15 minutes, until the peaches start to release their juice.
In another bowl, whisk together the self-rising flour, remaining 1/4 cup of sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
Add the cold butter to the dry ingredients and use a pastry blender or your fingers to work the butter into the mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
