Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs Steelhead Trout fillets
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 4 tbsp Unsalted Butter melted
  • 4 cloves Fresh Garlic minced
  • 1 large Lemon juiced and zested
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Dill or Parsley chopped
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 tbsp Capers optional
  • 1/2 tsp Red Pepper Flakes optional

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
  • Pat the Steelhead Trout fillets dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture and place them skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  • In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, lemon zest, and chopped fresh herbs.
  • Generously brush the garlic butter sauce over the top of the trout fillets, then season evenly with salt, pepper, and optional red pepper flakes.
  • Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, depending on thickness, until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork (internal temperature should reach 135°F for medium or 145°F for well-done).
  • Remove from the oven, garnish with extra fresh herbs or lemon slices, and serve immediately while warm.
