Ingredients

For the Strawberries:

  • 1 lb large strawberries look for uniform, ripe strawberries
  • Optional: extra strawberries for strawberry sauce or garnish

For the Cheesecake Filling:

  • 8 oz cream cheese softened (Philadelphia or your favorite brand)
  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup sour cream for added tang and creaminess
  • 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream cold
  • Optional: zest of 1 lemon for brightness

For the Topping:

  • 1/4 cup graham cracker crumbs or crushed graham crackers
  • Optional: drizzle of melted chocolate
  • Optional: whipped cream for extra flair

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Strawberries

  • Wash and dry the strawberries thoroughly.
  • Use a paring knife or small melon baller to remove the stems.
  • Carefully scoop out a small well in the center of each strawberry, about ½-inch deep. This is where the filling will go.
  • If your strawberries don’t sit flat, slice a thin layer off the bottom to stabilize them.

Step 2: Make the Filling

  • In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
  • Add the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and sour cream. Beat until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream to soft peaks.
  • Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until light and fluffy. Don’t overmix.
  • Pro Tip: For the best taste and texture, make sure your cream cheese is at room temperature before mixing.

Step 3: Fill the Strawberries

  • Transfer the cream cheese filling into a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
  • Pipe the cheesecake filling into the center of each strawberry, letting it slightly overflow for that “deviled” look.
  • You can also use a small spoon to fill the strawberries if you don’t have a piping bag.

Step 4: Add Toppings

  • Sprinkle with graham cracker crumbs for that classic cheesecake crust feel.
  • For extra sweetness, add a drizzle of melted chocolate or whipped cream dollop on top.
  • Add a mint leaf or tiny strawberry slice for garnish if serving at an event.
