For the Strawberries: 1 lb large strawberries look for uniform, ripe strawberries Optional: extra strawberries for strawberry sauce or garnish For the Cheesecake Filling: 8 oz cream cheese softened (Philadelphia or your favorite brand) 1/3 cup powdered sugar 1 tsp vanilla extract 1/4 cup sour cream for added tang and creaminess 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream cold Optional: zest of 1 lemon for brightness For the Topping: 1/4 cup graham cracker crumbs or crushed graham crackers Optional: drizzle of melted chocolate Optional: whipped cream for extra flair
Step 1: Prepare the Strawberries Wash and dry the strawberries thoroughly.
Use a paring knife or small melon baller to remove the stems.
Carefully scoop out a small well in the center of each strawberry, about ½-inch deep. This is where the filling will go.
If your strawberries don’t sit flat, slice a thin layer off the bottom to stabilize them.
Step 2: Make the Filling In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
Add the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and sour cream. Beat until well combined.
In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream to soft peaks.
Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until light and fluffy. Don’t overmix.
Pro Tip: For the best taste and texture, make sure your cream cheese is at room temperature before mixing.
Step 3: Fill the Strawberries Transfer the cream cheese filling into a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
Pipe the cheesecake filling into the center of each strawberry, letting it slightly overflow for that “deviled” look.
You can also use a small spoon to fill the strawberries if you don’t have a piping bag.
Step 4: Add Toppings Sprinkle with graham cracker crumbs for that classic cheesecake crust feel.
For extra sweetness, add a drizzle of melted chocolate or whipped cream dollop on top.
Add a mint leaf or tiny strawberry slice for garnish if serving at an event.
